Bizzare

DNS on Grinmir went kaputski. I'm hoping it's just a blip in the upgrade process of the network. But don't fret my hosted chums, all dns for hosted domains is done on 3rd party servers with kick bottom redundancy.

Shag

I need a dns server, one that is OPEN and that Grimnir can use for LOOKUPS since EasySpeedy's seem KNACKERED. This is becoming a slight problem if I can't get the cpanel licence reactivated and of course if I can't get Grimnir to obtain the time from it's friendly ntp server.

As well as all the email not being routed.

Good news and bad news.

Good News:

Grimnir is back up and running, EasySpeedy's DNS is still knackered. I will be investing in DynDns's recursive dns service (as primary!) once I'm paid.

Bad News:

I've had to bypass my problem by, erm, running my own dns service on Baby Jesus. I've managed to block any outside recursive requests to those only of Grimnir. However, if Telewest find out they'll probably go ape shit. Thankfully TEMPORARY is the word.

Also I never realised how dns intensive Grimnir was. Theres a look up for everything every second!
