Yes, I do realise the tax is unpaid since July, but if I were to take my current tax disc from the car one of those DVLA inspectors who swarm the council estate area would smell it and clamp me.
Edit: I should also mention that my car, which is parked on the road mind, still has number plates as these were my old ones which sat in my boot for the past year (ha ha car crims you missed your chance on a good set of plates LOLZ).
